We make things
I have always been drawn to serving others. Combined with a relatively short attention span naturally a service business resonated with me more than a product based business. In a service business you do lots of things but most important of all you need to have long and meaningful relationships with your clients. This factor drives a productive business partnership and mutual respect. Knowing my customers names and understanding their successes and challenges brings a great deal of satisfaction. A new client means hours of teamwork and time spent together. It is important to consider that you need to choose like minded people as clients as much as they need to choose you.
There is a great amount of variety in a creative business that will stretch and challenge the imagination. Creativity comes into existence where there is first no form. In a creative process, ideas may find other ideas or not in an often completely non logical, unconscious burst of thought. When connections are found between psychology, imagery and the written word, magic happens.
When your business model includes technology and creativity you are certainly not going to get bored. The Internet has been the market of my generation and it has challenged traditional thinking marketers, and business people to embrace new ways of communication and transacting. These two areas combined create a degree of complexity and uncertainty, and it is this degree of difficulty that I personally find very exciting.
Where I work, creation and change are constants. Diversity and variety are standard. Uncertainty and complexity are a given. Every day is different. That's what keeps me fresh, clever, and my imagination alive...
